We provide an individualized program for all our students. as every student has different needs. We look at the whole child and assess whether he /she may have other underlying problems that need to be remedied prior to commencing a program for their dyslexia .

All our sessions are on a one – to – one basis of an hour’s duration. The student needs to attend a minimum of two, one hour sessions a week. Of course more than two sessions are beneficial and can be arranged with your tutor.

As mentioned earlier each child is different. Some children are mildly Dyslexic while others have more pronounced problems. There are no quick fixes for students with dyslexia and it can take between 2 – 3 years to bring a moderately dyslexic student up to grade level. Cooperation and perseverance are needed for the program to be successful.

We have specialized in teaching children with literacy problems for the past 10 years and have a thorough knowledge of the techniques and the skills needed to assess and teach your child with dyslexia.

Tutoring via the internet is also available to children living in remote areas. We have been pleasantly surprised by the results of our internet tutoring. In fact there has be no difference between the results of students taught in the classroom and those taught over the internet. So if you are in a remote location internet tuition is a real option.

We are also an Accredited Provider of the Fast ForWord computer program which has been proven time and time again to improve auditory processing, working memory, attention, reading and other important learning skills which underpin literacy development.

 

Screening

We provide screening to determine whether your child fits the dyslexia profile or has other problems that are effecting his/her ability to read efficiently. The types of screening on offer and the one that best suits your purposes can be discussed with the tutor when you make contact with us.
